COVID-19 INFORMATION FROM FWPH

‼️🗣 NEWEST COVID-19 POLICY 🙊‼️

EFFECTIVE STARTING THURSDAY APRIL 2ND thru May 1:
We are open regular hours and seeing ALL appointments other than non essential surgeries.

We are improving our social distancing and will have ZERO owner contact appointments to protect our staff- so we can stay healthy and continue to provide quality care.

We have limited staff members available due to child care and wellness quarantining. So please be patient as we work together to give you great care within the perimeters of availability.

Please, only enter our business for all appointments or product pick up off of Cook Road behind the Davco dealership.  Proceed forward to the side door and stop so we can check you in and direct you for appointments or assist you with product pick up.

To limit our contact for product pick up we have 2 options.
1. Order on our website store which provides direct shipping with product guaranteed to come directly from the manufacturer and it is shipped straight to your home.  Many food orders other than our link for Purina and Blue Buffalo may have higher cost after the first order and limited availability.  Please plan ahead if you are using alternate food sites because shipping dates are being moved to longer delivery due to interrupted shipping.  Ours is still delivered by truck directly to our office and we have had no shortages at this time. Please plan ahead but do not hoard.
2. When you call in your meds and product orders for pick up- we ask that you prepay online via our secure website payment link. Or you can pay over the phone for those without internet usage. Finally, you can have exact change to expedite your time and limit our contact.

APPOINTMENT PROTOCOL:
1. After arriving from the Cook Road / Davco entrance, proceed forward to the next place in line at the side door.  Staff will check you in, process information, and take your phone number.
2. Proceed to parking area and wait on staff member to come out to your car and escort your pet in to their appointment.  The doctor will call you from a blocked number or via a potential new mobile app-  so please have a charged phone available when possible.  Doctors will talk from 6’ for those without a phone.
3. At appointments end with the doctor, you will be texted a payment link to be checked out with the total or you can check out over the phone.  After payment, we will email or bring paperwork and the pet back to the vehicle.

ESSENTIAL SURGERY PROTOCOL:
1. Please open, fill out, print, sign, then bring your surgical consent form from our website link
http://www.ftwaynepethospital.com/New_Client_2019_Fillable.pdf
2. After arriving from the Cook Road / Davco entrance, proceed forward to the next place in line at the side door.  Staff will check you in, process information, and take your phone number at 9am on appointment day. You will park and wait on staff member to come out to your car and escort your pet in to their check in with the doctor for your surgery appointment.  The doctor will call you from a blocked number so please have a charged phone available when possible.  Doctors will talk from 6” for those without a phone.
3. When procedures are done, Doctors or Techs will call and update you for hospitalization or pick up.  A link for payment will be texted or you can pay online from our secure website payment link.

PRODUCT PICK UP:
1. Please call in all med or food orders prior to pick up when possible.
2. After arriving from the Cook Road / Davco entrance, proceed forward to your place in line at the side door.
3. Staff will get your order and bring it out to your car.  If you haven’t prepaid (please prepay!), a link will be sent to your phone for payment or try to have exact change.  Product will then be brought to your car.

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding with these difficult medical times.  We pray for wellness and recovery for anyone in contact with this illness.  Please, if you have any type of illness, stay home for your safety and ours.  We cannot remain open for your family if we are also home sick.  So be considerate if you are ill and for any immediate emergencies, the non-affiliated emergency room Nives on Maplecrest Road is open 24 hours a day and will continue to stay open through the entire pandemic.  They are asking that all patrons call for information and appointments before arrival @ 426-1062.

God Bless you and your family,

The Doctors and Staff at the Fort Wayne Pet Hospital

‼️Covid-19 FWPH Policy Change‼️

3/19/2020
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
Out of an abundance of precaution for not only our staff but also following government recommendations - Fort Wayne Pet Hospital is implementing a temporary new policy as follows:
1. Only 1 person will be allowed with the pet in the office at a time. If assistance is needed please let the desk or receptionist know and an assistant will help.
2. Only 4 people with appointments will be allowed to be waiting in the lobby at a time- in order to help maintain the advised 6ft social distancing. When you arrive - come check in and then return to your car if the staff advises you too. We will call you when you can come in.
3. Due to the one person only policy as well as their carrier risk- children will not be allowed into the office. (Sorry!)
4. If you need a medication refill you have the option to order it through out online store and it will be shipped to your house from the warehouse.
5. If you need prescription food you can also order that through our online store or if it is a Purina Veterinary diet via-
https://www.proplanvetdirect.com
6. Until further notice we will not be doing any technician appointment elective nail trims.
7. We will continue to do surgeries and vaccines - however if you are ill, high risk, or can wait- it is advisable to just delay elective needs.
8. You have the option of avoiding touching the credit card machine by utilizing our online payment- this goes to our homepage ~then click “online payment” tab near the top.
9. If you would like you can even stay in your car for the entire appointment- an employee can come get the pet, and the doctor will call you to get information and ask questions.
Sorry for the inconveniences this may cause but it is very important for the health of our community to follow distancing guidelines and in order for us to stay open to serve your pets we must be healthy ourselves. We serve many many people everyday and this will help reduce the number of person-person interactions.
